About Us

Cheddar Arts @ Kings Theatre is a community arts organisation based in the Cheddar Valley. It is centred on the school's state-of-the-art studio theatre and is an important collaboration between The Kings of Wessex School and the village community. Cheddar has always had a tradition of amateur-based plays, pantomimes and school productions, and has often played host to touring companies and orchestras. Cheddar Arts aims to build on this, and it's hoped that the theatre will become the hub of village theatrical life.

Cheddar Arts @ Kings Theatre has seating for an audience of 240 and is fully equipped to professional standards with seats raised for perfect viewing. A new screen has been installed for the showing of films. Box office facilities will be provided by staff at Kings Fitness & Leisure.

Cheddar Arts intends to provide top quality professional entertainment and films for the local community. Volunteer Friends of Cheddar Arts will be working alongside staff at the Kings of Wessex School and Kings Fitness & Leisure, to ensure that the venue is a great success for everyone across the Cheddar Valley.
