Shipham's school building was completed in January 1973 for 110 pupils, but in 1976 it became a First School for 4-9 year old pupils. Numbers of pupils on roll are approximately 63 and the planned admission limit around 19.

The aim of the school is to ensure that all the children are provided with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

The school is well supported by its community and takes an active part in village activities.
