Sports Captains take delivery of Miss Manley's Prize

8th November, 2017 by Jude Owens

Further to Teacher of P.E. Miss Becka Manley’s stunning competition win live on local radio station Heart FM last month, the Lower School Sports Captains were delighted to take delivery of the first of the prizes for the P.E. Department in school on Friday.

Miss Manley won £1,500 of gym equipment after she got through two rounds of testing questions live on air with the third round held at the trampoline park, when she successfully answered the tantalising tie breaker question, “How many minutes is the latest Star Wars film?” with the nearest correct time.

Sponsors of the competition, Flip Out Trampoline Park in Bristol sent manager, Daniel Antoniou on this special mission to Cheddar to present Miss Manley and the Captains with a brand new set of junior and senior hockey goal-keeper kits that they helped to choose and which they enjoyed modelling. The modern, new equipment will be a big help for the Academy’s hockey teams who have big hopes of their improved performance and which were tried out this week by the Years 9 and 11 girls’ hockey teams in matches against The Blue School.

Next on Miss Manley’s wish list is some rugby tackle bags, javelins and a new music speaker and the students and P.E. Department, once again, thank Flip Out Trampoline Park for generously sponsoring this competition and thank Daniel for personally delivering the equipment.
