As one door closes, another one opens

A final celebration for the Year 13 students of The Kings of Wessex Academy took place on the evening of Thursday 20 June. With A level exams oh so nearly over, Year 13 congregated for one last time at Bristol Harbour Hotel for an evening of celebration which saw them indulge in a two course sit down meal, the presentation of special awards and, of course, dancing! As such a superb venue for this special evening was the only contender, only the most super smart dress code was set for the occasion. The newly formatted event saw students and staff celebrating the achievements of the Year 13’s side by side, during an evening which marked the end of a chapter for the students.
The lasting friendships formed at Kings, in some cases over the last five years, stood out and shone as friends linked arms and posed for photographs during the poignant occasion. They also served as an emotional reminder that many students will be voyaging to pastures new come September to embark on a new chapter in their lives: be that University, a gap year or the daunting prospect of employment. However, having been faced with the challenge of their exams of recent, for most the next adventure can be viewed as a positive challenge to be embraced, and a fresh page on which they can etch memories that will last a life time. But for now, breath! With summer imminent, students will enjoy a well-deserved chance of a stress-free break to rejuvenate in time for all that September has to offer. We wish our students all the very best with their final exams, results day and the next steps in their journey!
A level Exam Results Day is Thursday 15 August.
