Students at the Kings of Wessex Academy are celebrating their excellent A Level results. The A Level pass rate remains at an impressive 99% and more than half of the students were awarded grades of B, A and A*. These results are well deserved and reflect the high levels of effort and commitment the students have demonstrated throughout their studies.
There were some outstanding results and a selection of students surpassed all expectations. These include: Hallam Greene (Loxton) received an exceptional five A*s and will read Natural Sciences at Cambridge University. Receiving 3 A* and an A is Kathryn Bowman (Shipham) who will be taking a place at Durham University to study Modern Languages and Cultures, also reading at Durham will be Isaac Bradshaw-Down (Rodney Stoke) who will study Earth Sciences. Achieving 2 A*s, an A and a B are Anna Carvanova (Draycott) and Edward Jones (Wedmore) has secured his place to read Mathematics at Worcester College, Oxford, with his 2 A*, 1A & 1B. Additionally receiving 2 A*s and an A are Harriet Lucas (Wedmore) and Reuben Kouidri (Wedmore). Other notable performances include the following students achieving A* and 2 As: Ellen Cornish (East Brent), Jack Hanlon (Mark), Isaac Heather (Cheddar), Douglas Hodgson (Panborough), Sam Newton (Shipham), Samantha Salt (Draycott), Chloe Sweet (Street) and Ben Voice (Cheddar). Holly Wilkinson (Mark) achieved 2 A*s and a B and will read Mathematics at Manchester University and both Eleanor Langford (Cheddar) and Elinor Robinson (Westbury-sub-Mendip) receive A*, A and a B and hope to take up places at Exeter University. There are some exceptional achievements throughout the year group and we truly wish all our students success with their next steps and future plans.
Our Year 12 students posted fantastic results this year with over a third of entries receiving either As and Bs. These Year 12 results reflect a successful year. There were some impressive individual performances with the following students achieving 4 A grades: Rowan Griffin (Axbridge), Victoria Hayzer (Wedmore), Heather Hemmingway-Arnold (East Brent) and Michael Watford (Cheddar) and Tristan Greene (Loxton) also receiving 4 As and 1 B. Achieving 3 A grades and 1 B were Emily Czechowski (Mark), Declan Fisher (Mark), Daisy Graham Brown (Wedmore), Tim Jacobs (Rooksbridge), Abi Morgan (Cheddar), Imogen Percival (Burnham-on-Sea), Liliana Podpadec (Wedmore), Jasmine Virgo (Shipham) and Chloe Wilson (Axbridge). Zoe Frost (Axbridge) and Toby Woodroffe (Panborough) should also be noted for their achievements of 3 A grades and 1 C. With an equally impressive 3 A grades are Ella Byrne (Axbridge) and Joshua McClean (Brent Knoll).

It is with great pride we send our Year 13s onto their next steps and we look forward to seeing our Year 12s on September 5th to start their A level courses."
