A Level and Level 3 Results
Kings’ Sixth students are celebrating their excellent A Level and Level 3 results, with half of every grade achieved being a grade B or higher. Three quarters of the grades achieved were a grade C or higher. We are also celebrating exceptional vocational results with all BTEC Business Diploma students achieving a Distinction – Distinction (equivalent to AA) or higher.
There were incredible individual achievements including: Aum Shah, Toby Marshall and Leah Bowden all achieving three A* grades. Toby achieved a grade A in his fourth A Level and Leah a grade A in Core Maths. Aum is expected to attend the University of Manchester to study Maths. Toby will take up an apprenticeship in accounting, whilst Leah will attend the University of Exeter to study Business and Management. Katie Nicholls achieved two A* grades and one A grade and Matthew Holmes achieved two A* grades, one A grade and one B grade. Katie is planning on taking a year out of education, whilst Matthew will continue his study of Maths. Phoebe Munro and Oliver Rowe, both achieving one A* grade and two grade As, are moving on to study at the University of Reading and the University of Warwick respectively.
Amongst the many superb results are those Kings students who have made exceptional progress since the end of their GCSE studies: Alex Richardson, Trinity Conroy, April Akan, Thomas Averley, Keira Bird and Sky Gould. The progress made by these students is significantly above the national average compared to students with the same prior attainment. This reflects their dedication, hard work and drive in achieving their very best. They have exciting destinations to continue their studies in a plethora of subjects from Law to Psychology, Veterinary Medicine to Physiotherapy, Interior Design to Sport Science.
Each one of our Sixth Form students should be delighted with their results and enthusiastic about their next steps, including competitive apprenticeships and fantastic higher education places. Head Teacher, David Wiltshire, commented “Our Sixth Form should be very proud of the effort and resolve they have shown to achieve their best. Students have developed resilience and independence whilst continually supporting each other over the last five years. This student group has been fantastic ambassadors for the Academy, our community and young people. I am certain that every student will build on these most recent successes as they embark on their future steps. I look forward to hearing about their journeys and wish everyone the best of luck. Well done and congratulations!”
