Year 11 students are today celebrating a superb set of GCSE results at Kings Academy. Students demonstrated immense hard work and commitment over the exam period and have been rewarded for their efforts. Kings’ students excelled with 72% of students achieving five grades 4 to 9 including English and Mathematics and 51% achieving five grades 5 to 9 including English and Mathematics. Students should be extremely proud of their successes.
There have been some extraordinary individual performances. These include Ryan Bowden with an incredible eleven grade 9s, one for every qualification he completed. Alex Nash achieved ten grade 9s, one grade 8 and a grade 7. Harrison Cayford achieved nine grade 9s and three grade 8s. Isabelle Boxer collected seven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and three grade 7s. Toby Edmunstone also achieved seven grade 9s, with two grade 8s, two grade 7s and one grade 5. Additional exceptional performances include James Hobson, Amelia Bulman and Holly Johnston.
Kings’ students who have shown exceptional progress since KS2, demonstrating the impact of continuous effort and determination, include Callum Hardy, Lison Prod’Homme, Cai Stephens, Amelie Badman and Poppy Day. They have made extraordinary progress during their time at Kings. These results enable them to successfully make exciting next steps on their journeys.
We would also like to recognise the special achievements of our Year 11 students who joined Kings from Ukraine. They have all attained one or more GCSE grades above a strong pass, testament to their resilience.
We are thrilled so many students are returning to continue their studies at Kings Sixth in September, continuing to act as fantastic role models for others in the Academy, Trust and wider community. Alongside them, we are delighted to welcome many new Year 12 students from outside the Academy. We are excited to continue to work with these students and build on their fantastic achievements today. It is still not too late to apply to Kings Sixth. Please email kingssixth@kowessex.co.uk for more information or visit the school website.
Head Teacher, David Wiltshire, commented “I am delighted that the effort, determination and resolve Year 11 students have shown has been so richly rewarded. It is wonderful to be able to celebrate their successes; every student should be proud of themselves and the commitment they demonstrated. I would also like to thank every parent for their support. It has been a privilege to see each of our students flourish. I look forward to working with those returning to Kings Sixth and I wish every young person the very best of success as they embark on their next steps.”
