Supporting You
We are extremely proud of our student support. All our staff are committed to engaging with you to support you in a variety of ways and to continually enhance your Kings Sixth experience.
PASTORAL SUPPORT
Each student is placed in a tutor group, and you will meet on a daily basis. Your tutor will have regular individual discussions with you, to ensure that you are achieving your potential, and to provide advice and support in the case of any difficulties. Your tutor will also work with you in preparing for higher education applications, or for employment. Tutors also communicate essential daily information. Their role is vital to your success in the Sixth Form, so it is important that you have a good relationship with them, that you are open and communicative about your work, and that you always attend registrations, assemblies and form periods.
MONITORING FOR SUCCESS
All students are monitored with grade reviews throughout the year, a subjectbased parents’ evening and full report. At each review point, students’ attendance, progress in every subject and attitude to learning will be recorded and shared. A system of intervention and support is in place, if required, to ensure every student can achieve their potential.
ENRICHMENT
Our enrichment programme is designed to spark the curiosity to pursue areas of interest that will aid students’ holistic development and benefit their future life choices. Students select from our broad and balanced enrichment offer, giving them the opportunity to pursue diverse areas of interest that support their wellbeing or future career options. We also offer a wide range of residential trips including New York, Iceland, Barcelona.
CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITY
Our careers programme includes essential study skills and input from outside agencies including employers, universities and gap year organisations. This is led by our Careers Advisors, who are also available for independent advice and guidance. All of our students have access to Unifrog – a portal for Post-16 careers advice.

Within the Sixth Form you will find a relaxed atmosphere, which is calm and well-ordered.
