End of Autumn Term

December 2016

The Kings’ Messenger

Students Praised

for Academy Awards

Students are Top of the Pops!

In the penultimate week of term the Academy was adorned with records and record sleeves

(yes, in

the retro sense and apparently they’re making a comeback!)

and other musical paraphernalia for this

year’s Charities Week organised by the Senior Student Team and House Captains on the theme of

Top of the Pops

(cue a nostalgic sigh, for those of you who remember the programme in its heyday on the BBC).

The bass was pumping, and the audience were bopping and singing in their seats to the music as the Senior Team

hosted ten events at break and lunchtimes, culminating in the pop concert to top all pop concerts:

the legendary

Rock and Roll Years!

This top Kings’ tradition was fun-fundraising at its best as students and staff alike joined in to raise as much mon-

ey as possible for the 2016 student chosen charities: In Charley’s Memory, Daughters of Eve and Care4 Calais.

See the

report by The Kings and Queens News Team.

But for

now, without further ado, let’s get on with the show...!
