Kings of Wessex 11-0 St Dunstan's

On Tuesday 17 October 2017, the Year 10 Hockey team played their first fixture of the year against St Dunstan’s School at home.

The team was very confident after being undefeated and County champions last year, and included many new faces who worked in seamlessly with the previous team from Year 9’s.

They started strong with their first goal within 5 minutes, then continued to work tirelessly in the midfield and combined well at the front to be leading by 6-0 at half time with goals coming from Hannah, Kylie and Liv.
But St Dunstan’s came back at them in the second half. Yet our Kings’ team continued to push, and created many scoring opportunities and played excellently as a team. Unfortunately, our newly recruited goalie Millie Oaten, did not get much practice as goalkeeper as the ball was rarely in the defensive third, due to the solid defensive performance put forward.

The goals came thick and fast again with Hannah scoring a hat trick and more goals from Abbie and Mia with a great final score of 11-0 to the Year 10 Girls with an exceptional performance put in by every player.
