Joe is offered place at prestigious Performing Arts conservatoire.

Kings Year 10 Performing Arts student, Joe Thomas, recently travelled to Essex to the prestigious ‘Performers College’ where he took part in a day of boys workshops. During the musical theatre workshop, Joe was scouted by Performers College and invited to attend their Elite Programme, a huge opportunity for aspiring performers such as Joe. The Elite Programme is run once a month and is only offered to performers that they believe have potential and demonstrate a real passion for performance. The programme selects just 30 students a year nationwide to be a part of the workshops, delivered by lecturers at the college and professionals from the industry.

Joe said “I was extremely grateful and excited to be asked to join and I can’t wait to go and train with them.”

The programme is intensive, run for 6 hours at a time and focusing on a range of dance styles such as contemporary, jazz and musical theatre.

Kings Performing Arts teacher, Miss Hall said “It is a brilliant achievement for Joe, and a testament to the hard work he puts in both in lessons and in extracurricular activities. Joe took on a lead role in the school musical this year, and is an active member of the Kings Dance Company. I am thrilled his efforts have been recognised.”

Congratulations Joe- we can’t wait to see what you do next.
